Resourcing Collaborators

Providing financial resources to organizations taking action to advance restoration and enrich communities.

Accelerating Restoration Resilience, and Empowerment Through Collaboration

Collaboration is a keystone to The Bay Foundation’s mission. We are committed to working alongside partners to further our mission, and recent funding opportunities have made it possible for us to take meaningful steps toward achieving our goals.

The fiscal year 2022 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) included $132 million designated for the 28 National Estuary Programs (NEPs) to support the implementation of their long-term action plans, Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plans (CCMPs). This amounts to $4.5 million for the Santa Monica Bay National Estuary Program (SMBNEP) spanning fiscal years 2022 through 2026. The Bay Foundation (TBF), as the host organization for SMBNEP, is responsible for executing its long-term action plan and ensuring BIL funding accelerates critical environmental and community restoration goals.

In 2025, TBF was awarded $10.26 million in funding from the California State Coastal Conservancy to implement nature-based restoration projects designed to enhance the resilience of Santa Monica Bay. We are pleased to collaborate with innovative partners to help lead some of these restoration efforts.
