Q&A with LMU CRI’s Karina Johnston

A punctured pipeline off the coast of Orange County released oil into the ocean in early October. Though a southbound current kept the oil from beaches near LMU, the spill reminds coastal communities of the very real threat of an environmental disaster. Shedding light on the oil spill and giving details about the local work of The Bay Foundation (TBF), Director of Programs for LMU’s Coastal Research Institute (CRI) Karina Johnston spoke with staff writer Kyle O’Gorman.
